Sony Preamplifier TAE-20F Fully Working Condition

Although compact, the front and top are made of thick aluminum, providing excellent strength and a high-quality feel.
As expected from a standalone preamplifier, it offers a rich bass response and a well-defined soundstage, making record listening even more enjoyable. It supports MC cartridges.
It has undergone simple maintenance.
The volume and external connectors have been cleaned.
Furthermore, with the intention of improving sound quality, six coupling capacitors in the signal line have been replaced with Nichicon audio capacitors (Fine Gold) (see the 10th photo).
Additionally, film capacitors have been added to the power supply capacitors of the flat amplifier before the output (see the 11th photo). Overall, I believe the sound has become smoother with reduced extraneous noise.

There are no major scratches or dirt, so the exterior is in good condition, but there are some signs of use such as dirt, dullness, scuffs, and deterioration of the plated surface.
As a point of caution during use, there is a shock noise output when the power is turned on, so it is recommended to turn on the power amplifier that receives the signal after this unit.
While there is no noticeable crackling from the volume or switches, please understand that as this is an older piece of equipment, crackling may occur if left unused for a period.
